Micahel Pickett (Pukekohe Swimming Club) swam fantastically at the 2020 Queensland Short Course Championships over the weekend just gone. Pickett broke the New Zealand 18 Year Age Group Short Course Records in both the Men's 100 Freestyle (48.65) and the 50m Freestyle (22.25). Both records were long-standing for 12 years! Previous record holders were: ⁠100 Freestyle - Daniel Bell (48.98) back in 2008 and ⁠50 Freestyle - Orinoco Faamausili-Banse (22.31) back in 2008
